Purpose of the Job

Apply relevant Fire safety standards to ensure compliance to local legislation and ALJ Motors standards (NFPA). Provide guidance on the development of ALJ Motors Fire Safety policies and procedures. Undertake physical Fire Safety Risk Assessments to determine the level of compliance with standards to achieve short, medium and long term strategic and operational fire risk reduction including assisting in the mitigation of identified fire safety hazards and risks. To ensure ALJ Motors Fire safety issues are resolved within agreed timelines with the Operational business units and Director ESSR

Key Accountabilities: Description

To review design drawings to ensure all modifications to, or new fire suppression and detection systems meet the KSA Fire Safety Standards. To Undertake Physical assessments as part of a team to ensure all ALJM facilities are visited twice a year. To assist the business to mitigate issues identified as part of the assessment process. each assessment undertaken produce two non-specialist checkli.

Review of design drawings. No of Assessment reports. 90% of issues to be resolved. No of Checklists

Major Activities

1. Application of relevant fire safety standards.

2. Provide support to ALJ Motors with the implementation applicable Fire Safety Policies and Procedures where required.

3. Monitor level of compliance with all Fire Safety Policies and Procedures for ALJ Motors facilities.

4. Follow the fire safety inspection program as required to meet ESSR requirements and complete non specialist checklists and

others as required

5. Comply with the distributed fire safety inspection program to ensure targets are met and assist where necessary to ensure

ALJ Motors operational management achieve desired mitigation plans.

6. Present training to associates on fire safety matters, the undertaking of inspections and associated administration in

accordance with fire safety policy.

7. Where required provide consultation to assist associates with the implementation and application of fire safety related

technical guides, policy and codes of practice.

8. Where required provide support to associates undertaking fire safety inspections and associated administration in

accordance with fire safety policy.

9. Undertake Ad-Hoc fire safety inspections and assessments as directed.

10. Maintain level of competence and keep up to date with Fire Safety Legislation trends and applications.

11. Apply Fire Safety Policies and Procedures in line with Legislation and International best practice.

12. Undertake physical Fire Risk Assessments as directed.

13. Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) to achieve overall fire and associated risk reduction and improve efficiencies.

14. Maintain a high level of communication and transparency between the Fire Safety team and local ALJ Motors Operational

Management, ALJ Land holding and any other relevant stakeholders.

15. Review Fire Safety installations at 3. S and distribution facilities within ALJ Motors & ensure that legislation, codes and

standards as well as international best practice in Fire Safety are implemented

16. When directed review Project Designs to ensure that Fire Safety legislation, standards, policy and procedure, in line with

International best practice is adhered to prior to development projects being commenced or renovation work undertaken.

•The job has direct impact over ensuring applying relevant fire safety standards across ALJM

•The job holder has direct impact over ensuring ALJM Fire safety issues are resolved within agreed timelines with the Operational business units and Director ESSR.

•The job ensures following regulations and communicating any updates to the ALJM management

•The job holder has a crucial role in managing all identified hazards including visually identified electrical issues

•The job has a crucial role to identify operational fire risk assessment Ad Hoc physical inspections together with subsequent mitigation action plans, as well as the supervision of Fire Drills

•The job holder has a strategic role in developing and monitoring the team while developing a succession plan within the department

Minimum Qualifications

Diploma or Degree qualified in Engineering (fire, mechanical, civil or similar field)

Special Certifications / Membership

National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH), International General Certificate /International Fire Certificate or equivalent. NFPA Certified Fire Inspector and current relevant NFPA standards educational achievement for NFPA 4, 13, 20, 25 72 and 101 as relevant
