Purpose of the Job

Supervise group-wide facilities preventive and predictive maintenance program. Continuously survey and assess customer satisfaction with on-call facility repair services, contracted services or third-party maintenance/ repairs; identify shortcomings in responsiveness, quality of repairs, and customer communications; take prompt, positive action to maintain high levels of customer service.

Major Activities

1. Supervise and monitor the maintenance, service & repair activities of all facilities/ units, ensuring adherence to industry standards and in compliance of legal provisions, for a timely, cost-effective, and robust service delivery.

2. Monitor facilities management related input on new sites & projects to pre-empt post-completion issues, promote operational efficiencies/ building performance and optimize on maintenance & repair, ease, lead time and cost.

3. Implement policies and procedures that support the pursuit of facilities management strategic goals and objectives and are consistent with overall policies ensuring the efficient and safe operation of the facilities/ units

4. Improve the relationships with the clients, landlords, consultants, contractors, and all concerned authorities & parties to ensure maintenance & repair services are completed without any dispute, litigation, or cost overruns.

5. Supervise and ensure that the people engaged in the maintenance & repair services to work to their best potential and promote smooth working relations with internal & external teams to deliver service effectively.

6. Networking of third-party service providers in the facilities management area, contractors, engineers, and government authorities.

7. Ensure all health & safety requirements are met in accordance with civil defense, ESSR and other regulatory bodies etc., including testing water systems, fire systems, cradle systems, A/C systems, swimming pools etc.

8. Monitor implementation of building system repair and replacement solutions, in coordination with business unit heads, using the in-house and third-party professional services.

9. Implement and monitor service contracts to assure compliance with job specifications and adherence to unit cost agreements.

10. Monitor all facility maintenance contracts and agree all pricing with external parties

Minimum Qualifications

Diploma in Engineering or an equivalent technical qualification relevant to facilities management

Minimum Experience

4 years of work experience in a large/ diverse commercial establishment with latter years in a responsible supervisory position

Job-Specific Skills

People management and communication skills, Leadership skills

Languages

Arabic is a must, English preferred

Special Certifications / Membership

Certifications linked to the security industry would be beneficial
