Purpose of the Job

Provide technical and commercial support related to electrical systems for projects executed by ALJM Fit Out and renovation.
Provide support for power supply matters such as SECO power applications, Backup diesel generators solutions.
Value engineering to achieve the best technical and commercial implementations of the electrical systems.
Assure compliance to electrical safety standards throughout ALJM Fit out and renovation.

Key Accountabilities: Description

Review  concept  design criteria of electrical systems (LV & LC installations) to make sure that the local and international standards are met.
Review Detailed Design Drawings of Electrical systems (LV & LC installations) to verify that all systems are included in the detailed design and the layouts of the same are well coordinated with other disciplines.
Review BOQ (Bill of quantities) to make sure that it is matching with the detailed design drawings and that all items are described as per specifications
Review and approve site (installation) drawings of electrical systems and provide technical comments wherever applicable.

Major Activities

1    Review material submittal and samples of electrical items to make sure that it is complying with the specifications
2    Review and validate Electrical Load Calculations, Panel Schedules and Lighting Studies.
3    Ensure commercial offers from vendors in relation to Electrical Systems and compare the same with the market prices.
4    Attend meetings with the vendors to negotiate the offers in order to reach the best prices for ALJM
5    Implement value engineering (wherever applicable) to reduce cost of projects.
6    Review and validate As-built drawings of installed electrical systems
7    .Attend meeting with consultants to discuss all aspects of Electrical System and to highlight specific ALJM requirements
8    Liaison the authorities (SECO) in relation with power supply applications
9    Conduct frequent site visits to inspect the work progress of electrical systems (LV & LC).
10    Attend site meetings with the consultants and contractors in order to achieve smooth execution of electrical systems and to resolve any technical conflict that might arise at site.
11    Reviewing all drawings and documents according to standard before tendering
12    Contribute in the handing over process of executed projects.

    The job has direct impact over ensuring that designs meet all required electrical standards 
    The job holder has direct impact over electrical designs for ALJM Fit out ad renovation

    The job holder has the freedom to change electrical design concept drawings based on end users requirements
    The job holder has the freedom to update, review and develop electrical designs to meet required standards
    The job holder has the authority to approve/decline electrical design proposals

Minimum Qualifications

Degree in Electrical Engineering 

Minimum Experience

10 years of related experience in the field
